Well Done and Thank You
We are the Emergency Department Medical Staff team in NHS Tayside. In our conversation about our iMatter report we highlighted a need to increase the feeling of appreciation for all grades of staff and agreed this as one of our actions.
In order to deliver on this action, the departments have developed a Learning from Excellence program with the following aims:
- Value our staff and improve staff morale
- Learn from excellent practice
This system provides peer to peer positive feedback both within our department and to all those we interact with on a daily basis. It allows team members to recognise great care, or those who go the ‘extra mile’, or brilliant teamwork, and to say well done and thank you.
This simple idea is now spreading out beyond the ED, to other departments.
