Everyone Matters Pulse Survey

Tricia Murphy, Assistant Patient Catering Manager at the QEUH has taken just a few minutes to fill in the Everyone Matters Pulse Survey and recommends all staff fill it in too.

Working as part of the Facilities and Estates directorate, where the majority of staff don’t have regular access to a PC, it is so important to take the time to engage with this cohort of staff face to face so they too can give feedback. In Tricia’s department the supervisors personally handed the survey to staff and explained what the survey was about and asked everyone to fill it in and return it to the post box at the sign in desk.

Tricia outlined why it was important to her to fill in the survey.

Why is the Pulse Survey important to you?
It’s good to give feedback as if you don’t, things can’t get fixed if needed.

Why is the Pulse Survey important to your team?
It’s good for staff to give their opinion back so they know they are important too, if they have issues, things can get fixed. It also provides the opportunity for staff to feedback any issues anonymously, which some staff feel more comfortable with.

Why have you taken the time to participate in the survey?
I took part so I could have my say on how I have been feeling. It’s a good way to let the organisation know what I think and understand what is important to me.

GRI Emergency Department’s thank you to the children

The children of those working at GRI’s Emergency Department have received a very special thank you letter. In the letter, they thank the children for sharing their parents at this difficult time and stress how important their job is in making sure we can all get back to normal. The letter also recognises how the children may be feeling about the changes going on around them and lets them know what they can do to help keep themselves safe and support their families. The response to the letters from both the children and staff has been overwhelmingly positive and has helped highlight the valuable contribution being made by each individual.

Everyone Matters Pulse Survey

Sarah Aird, Assistant Home Support Organiser, East Renfrewshire HSCP, and her team use SMS through work based digital technology to participate in the Everyone Matters Pulse Survey. Sarah tells us why the survey is important to her and her team:

Why is the pulse survey important to you?
The survey is important to me as it allows me to put my views across anonymously and therefore allows me to say more things than I might when it is face to face. It is also important because then the data can be collected and the areas of improvement can be worked on.

Why is the pulse survey important to your team?
The survey is important to my team because this year has been very challenging with COVID-19 and there have been a lot of uncertain times. Also it gives them the opportunity to put their views and feeling across. With COVID-19 there has been huge changes with restrictions/requirements and the carers have been brilliant in making sure that each service user has had the best care possible throughout the year.

Why have you taken time to participate in the survey?
I participate in the survey because it allows data to be collected and a plan to be made for the areas that need improvement. Also the survey allows me to check and see if there are any areas that I need to improve on with my team.
