What we are grateful for....
We introduced the Team Gratitude Board after discussing in the Prosocial/iMatter and Staff Wellbeing part of our Team Meeting.
A member of our team had used a similar Board in a previous role and shared the benefits and impact it had there.
For us in CAMHS it has had a positive impact, with colleagues feeling appreciated and having a way to express their feelings in an easy and effective way. It also has been used by other services in the Willows, which was lovely to see. Showing appreciation towards others makes yourself feel good in return, which then impacts on your own wellbeing also. It's a win, win really!
Every 2 weeks we take a photo of the Board to send electronically round the team for those based in other offices. People from our other offices can send through messages for someone to write up for them. The board gets wiped clean after the photo is taken to start again with a clean slate prompting staff to be mindful and aware of appreciating each other and people around them on a regular basis.
The Board has been really well received by the team, you can see some feedback below.
Our next step is to add a little tub of sweets, so when you add a comment you can take one if you wish. Another wee added bonus!
Here's what the team have to say!
“I have to say I really appreciate the gratitude board; I always have a look at it when I walk past and I think its really good to see the positives, certainly makes me smile.”
“I've also added to it and felt it was a really easy way to share my thoughts or feelings.”
“I would like it to stay, its something for the staff and well being and we really need that.”
“I love, it was a really lovely reminder that there are some amazing team supports going on especially after times of conflicting ideas.”
“I like the gratitude board; it always makes me smile as I pass. I think it's a nice way of acknowledging the things / people / experiences in our working life that we are grateful for.”
“Feedback, I have the benefit of facing the board every time I leave my office, it has been an uplifting experience and a reminder we are not alone when things are difficult.”
